This is a Hachi sweater knit (sometimes also spelled as Hacci or Hatchi), which is a stretchy knit with a semi-closed weave, ideal for flowy garments. They are wrinkle-resistant and easy to sew. With the grain 2″ stretched to almost 3″, across the grain 2″ stretched to 3.5″.
